Grand Myanmar Classic Tour

Route broad to learn about the many facets of this fascinating country. The route starts from the ancient capital of Mandalay, where we visit the old royal city, before heading to Monywa, situated on the banks of the Chindwin river, and the stone complex of Po Win Daung. We proceed by river to the magnificent archaeological site of Bagan Shan plateau before flying visit to Inle Lake with the villages and the "gardens" floating status Kayah, a small mountainous region sandwiched between the Shan and Karen state where live several ethnic groups including the Padaung, whose women are known as "giraffe women. The trip ends in Yangon, with its imposing pagodas and buildings from the colonial era and the "Golden Rock", an impressive monument became one of the iconic images of the country.

Day 01: Arrive in Mandalay

Arrival in the morning at the international airport in Mandalay, bureaucratic formalities, meet your local guide and trasferimentonell'hotel the chosen category. Free time for lunch. Afternoon dedicated to visit the city, the capital of Burma during the nineteenth century: the Mahamuni Pagoda , the pagoda Kuthodaw, also known as the largest book in the world, the monastery wooden Shwenandaw , the only remaining building of the original complex of the royal palace. At sunset, excursion to Mandalay Hill for the sunset. Return to the hotel.

Day 02: Mandalay Sightseeing

In the morning excursion boat motor on the Irrawaddy River to Mingun (about 1 hour), where stands the huge pagoda severely damaged by an earthquake in 1838 and is observed among the largest bells existing heavy 90 tons. Return to Mandalay.  Lunch at local restaurant . In the afternoon departure to Sagaing , the "holy city" of Burma, with about 600 pagodas and nearly 100 centers meditazione.Dopo a picturesque sunset from Sagaing Hill, Mandalay, return to the hotel.

Day 03: Amarapura - Monywa

In the morning excursion to Amarapura , one of the three ancient capitals that are located near Mandalay. You visit the monastery Mahagandayon , one of the largest in the country, where they live and study hundreds of young monks and ' U Bein Bridge , the longest existing bridge made of teak. lunch at local restaurant. Continuation to Inwa : founded in 1364 and for almost 400 years the capital of the kingdom, today is a quaint rural village with houses with thatched roofs that you visit on board a carriage drawn by horses. Between the buildings, witnesses of the glorious past, the tower, also known as the leaning tower of Ava for its strong inclination, the brick and stucco monastery Maha Aungmye Bonzan , and the elegant teakwood monastery Bagaya kyaung . Departure for Monywa, the largest town in the valley of the River Chindwin.

Day 04: Monywa - Pakkoku - Bagan

Early in the morning we cross the Chindwin river, and continue by car to the caves of Po Win Daung (24 km) where you look at the statues carved into the rock. We then visit the temple of Shwe Ba Daung and the village of Kyaukka . Departure for Pakkoku with a stop along the way to visit Pakhangyi , a town with walls dating back to the nineteenth century and the oldest wooden monastery in the country. Packed in simple local restaurant during the excursion . Boarding Pier Pakkoku and cruise to Bagan (arrival late afternoon)

Day 05: Bagan Heritages

Whole day excursion to Bagan , the capital of the Burmese kingdom from the tenth to the thirteenth century, Angkor certainly the most fascinating and important archaeological site in the whole East. Hundreds of more than 8000 of temples, pagodas and monasteries existing time are still scattered in the arid plains. Day 07: Bagan - Heho - Loikaw

Drive to the Inle Lake in the morning. We then begin to explore this this amazingly magical and unique shallow lake by a long tailed boat. The highlights for today include the Intha boatmen with their 'one-legged' rowing style, the potato floating gardens and the Nga Phe Chaung (Jumping Cats) monastery.

Day 08: Loikaw Sightseeing

Full day spent exploring the surroundings of Loikaw. After visiting the colorful local market, we start early in the morning to the village of Sa Bwinn where you can observe the lifestyle and culture of thePadaung , known for particular ethnic ornaments of women, also known by the name of "women giraffe "because they wear heavy brass rings that stretch the neck in an unnatural manner. After returning to Loikaw and continuation of visits to the monastery adjacent to the pagoda Taungwe , the Catholic church , the temple animist . Dinner at hotel and overnight.

Day 09: Loikaw - Sagar - Inle Lake

Transfer by car to Amoe Byaee departure by boat to Inle Lake (about 6 hours) sailing along the Blue Channel from south to north. Along the way we visit the ruins of the ancient pagodas in the village of Sagar and the pagoda of Thakaung. Packed in simple local restaurant. During the afternoon you visit a handicraft village and the village of Kyainkham , known for the production of yarns made from flowers and continuation of the village of Naung Po where they produce handmade pottery and the village of Kyinkhan known pearl spinning of the lotuses, with which are derived tissues. Day 10: Inle Lake Sightseeing

Day dedicated to the visit of the lake in the boat: it starts with an excursion to visit the village ofNanpan , to see how they are built the traditional boats used by the inhabitants of the lake and visit a factory of cheroot, Burmese cigars. Day 11: Inle Lake - Yangon - Golden Rock

Early in the morning departure to Kyaikhtiyo , Mon state, where the resort is located in the Golden Rock, a huge spherical rock covered in gold leaf teetering on the edge of a precipice of a mountain (it is believed with the help of a hair Buddha), an important place of pilgrimage in the paesee definitely one of the best-known images of the country. You need to go 4-hour drive to Kin Pun from where it continues for about 11 km along a bumpy road in trucks with wooden benches (about 45 minutes) to the top of the mountain. Lunch during the excursion in restaurant local . The long journey, sometimes uncomfortable, is rewarded by the beautiful view that you can enjoy once you reach the top.

Day 12: Golden Rock - Bago - Yangon

After breakfast return to Kin Pun, from where you continue by car to Bago (about 3 hours), the ancient capital of the kingdom. You visit the pagoda Shwemawdaw , less than 114 meters high (more than the Shwedagon pagoda in Yangon) and the colossal reclining Buddha Shwetalyaung , regarded as one of the most realistic. Lunch at local restaurant. In the afternoon return to Yangon, along the way visiting the pagodaKyaik Pun Paya , where complex are located 4 statues of Buddha 30 meters high. Late afternoon arrival in Yangon and visit the twilight of Shwedagon Pagoda (Golden Pagoda) , symbol of the city, more than 100 meters high and topped by a "hti" decorated with hundreds of diamonds and precious stones.

Day 13: Yangon departure

Spend time visiting the Chaukhtatgyi pagoda, with the huge statue of the reclining Buddha, the center of the city with a walk along the 'Pansodan Street ' in the colonial district, and the Scott Market (closed on Mondays).
