Hlawgar Wildlife Park

If you are looking for ecotourism tour around Yangon City, Burma, there are no places else better than Hlawgar National Park, located about 35km north of Yangon.

The Hlawgar National Park is diverse and really a treasure trove of flora and fauna, with 623 hectares in total. It offers accommodation to many kinds of deer (eld’s deer, hog deer, barking deer, sambar deer), as well as pangolin (a scaly, plate-covered mammal that rolls up into a ball when defending itself), pythons, and rhesus monkeys. You easily find a dense population of local resident and migratory birds among many other creatures, making it the ideal spot for birding.

The most normal way travelers would choose is to go safari-style on jeeps or buses through the park. Those looking for an even closer experience with nature would love to hike on trails through dense evergreen forests, go on a bird-watching tour, or simply explore the jungle on the back of an elephant!
