Kaungmudaw Pagoda

This grand Kaungmudaw pagoda is located around 10 km to the north of the Sagaing Hill. The enormous dome of the pagoda peaks 46 m (151 feet) in the shape of a perfect hemisphere and was designed after the Mahaceti Pagoda in Sri Lanka. The pagoda has its another name as Rajamanisula. In commemoration to the establishment of the Innwa as the Royal Capital of Burma, the development was built. There are some 800 stone pillars standing around the foot of the pagoda, each is 1.5 meter high. All the statistics and data during the construction process are recorded on the pillars.
